Louis Ward (1913 - 2005) - a set of x50 pieces of detailed, mixed media, original artwork created for a 'Wild West' series of 50 cigarette cards, by Bristol artist Louis Ward. Featuring famous faces from the 'Wild West' such as 'Buffalo Bill', 'Chief Sitting Bull' and scenes such as 'The Old Oregon Trail', 'A Railroad Robbery' and others. Accompanied with two pages of cigarette card proofs. 

Louis Arthur Ward was born in Bristol in 1913 and became a member of the local art community 'Bristol Savages' at the age of 21. After the war, he became a book illustrator and exhibited at the R.I., RWA and at Bristol Art Gallery. His painting of Christ in Gethsemane hangs in the Lady Chapel of Bristol Cathedral.
