A Pair of Khorassan Style Openwork Brass Zoomorphic Censers, 20th Century.

Each finely cast in the form of a stylised feline creature, standing alert on all fours with a curled tail and detachable head, revealing a hollow body for burning incense. The surface is intricately pierced with arabesque scrollwork and geometric lattice, framed by raised medallions at the shoulders and haunches. The collars are adorned with pseudo-Kufic bands, while the tails and facial features are detailed with sharp chiselling.
