Sword: An Italian 19th Century smallsword, possibly for wear at Court. Double edged blade 31.5". Ricasso marked 'G. Cesati. & FL. Milan'. Ornate clamshell stirrup hilt. (brass) with Mother of Pearl scales (grips). Traces of gold decoration to blued blade. In its decorated brass mounted leather scabbard with two suspension rings. (Scale grips loose). Scabbard throat absent? An attractive well made sword. Viewing recommended. A quality piece in its day
