HMS Charybdis was a British Royal Navy cruiser which was sunk on 23rd October 1943 by a German torpedo, in between Guernsey and France. The bodies of 21 RN Royal Marines crew were washed ashore in Guernsey and buried with full honours at Le Foulon cemetary.
