A fascinating collection of documents and ephemera, the majority dated 1944 relating to Lieutenant Lee. The mixed collection of items includes a number of images purportedly of Lieutenant Lee in uniform in various poses. Three boxes of slides 'Army Air Forces Recognition slides 5/23/44' (156 slides), 'Revised basic Naval vessel set 324 slides' and 'Aircraft supplement No.10 (American)265 slides). A Polaroid aviation goggle kit number 1068 comprising goggles and a range of eight different coloured lenses, with instructions. Various notebooks and ephemera, handbook for the radio compass SCR-269-G. Recognition manual, notes of training missions, letters, hand written letters, instructions for trainee pilots. Pilot training book dated from July 1943 with flights in Aeronca TAC, various record documents, maps, and other items.
Ronald Lee of California served in the United States Army with number 0-2062829. He was 17 years old in 1943, his Father had served in the First World War. *CR Mixed states, box for goggles poor, some documents and photographs showing signs of damage from damp.
