A BOLD AND UNUSUAL CHARLES II DERBYSHIRE OAK SINGLE CHAIR WITH ALL TURNED BASE, CIRCA 1650-1660. The inclined uprights terminating in scrolls having applied split balusters and domes flanking a pair of bold arcades carved with a scroll interlace and deep scalloped recess divided by turned ball finials, above a recessed seat with moulded rails, ball turned legs and rare matching all turned stretchers. 106cm high 45cm wide 39cm deep set height 47.5cm Note - Very similar chairs or backstools can be seen at Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire, those without fully turned bases.
