NAPOLEONIC WARS AFTERMATH - HANOVER/G.B. - CHELSEA PENSIONERS' FREE COVER + RELEVANT ACT; 20 June 1809 printed British Act ref. support for Chelsea Hospital soldiers, plus 29 May 1817 printed EL (with original "Pro Memoria" enclosure) to Brunswick authorities with v. fine "HANNOVER" mark sent free with a very fine rare German usage of the "Chelsea-Pensioners/Pay-Office" authorisation mark on the front (this was the free mail system for those who had fought in the Allied forces - both German & British - at Waterloo), encouraging veterans to apply to become Chelsea pensioners in Germany.
