AN EARLY VICTORIAN NATHANIEL MILLS SILVER SNUFF BOX, the rectangular shape with engine turned banded detail, a central initialled cartouche to the lid and floral and foliate decoration to the opening edge of the lid, with gilt interior, silver hallmark for Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1840, length 74mm, approximate weight 56.6 grams (condition report: quite heavily worn, some loss of definition to decoration in areas, moderate to heavy tarnishing, small split to front left corner of lid, some small dints, gilt is rubbed to the inside, hinge in good working order, lid closes flush)
