An early 19c eight day longcase clock, the 30cm arched dial signed William Palmer, Bristol. The all-over silvered dial has swags and scroll engravings to the corners and a depiction of Neptune in the arch. The hands are of matched steel and the dial has Roman numerals with Arabic out minute markers. The four pillar movement has anchor escapement and is rack striking on a bell. It is contained in a mahogany case with swan neck pediments to the hood and three ball and eagle finials between. The free standing hood columns are fluted and have Corinthian capitals. The rectangular trunk door has a central shell inlay and crossbanded edging. The case corners are canted and have line inlays. The base has edge crossbanding and an outward curving skirting. The clock stands 223cm tall overall.

The case is in generally good condition with a slight dent to the central finial and the trunk door is locked without a key. the silvered dial is tarnished and would benefit from re-silvering. The movement seems complete and fairly clean.
