She was a contemporary of Lady Gregory, Hugh Lane, William Orpen, W B Yeats and other artists with whom she was acquainted. This biography details her life from the early days in Dungarvan where she was born and through the splendid years of the Irish Renaissance. She was a courageous woman among other courageous and imaginative men and women who were responsible for the great surge in literature, poetry, drama, sculpture and painting. The book is well illustrated with images of works by Purser and also includes a pencil sketch of her by John Butler Yeats.
