A colourful Seosamh Ó Dálaigh (Irish, Achill School) pastel on paper drawing of a harbour scene. Strong confident drawing technique used to depict the figures. Housed in a high quality frame with complementary tonal matting.
Seosamh Ó Dálaigh moved to Achill with his wife Nóra, who was from the area, in 1970. He began painting in his childhood and has developed his own unique style. His early work concentrated largely on the landscapes and people of Achill/ West of Ireland. While creating beautiful portrayals of Achill life he has also produced many works based on his travels at home and in Spain, Portugal and Italy.
Seosamh had the pleasure of painting a portrait of renowned artist Derek Hill at his hut on Tory Island, Donegal and of artist Tony O 'Malley, who spent time on Achill Island.
