R.M.S. CARPATHIA: Unusual bronze crew medal, the reverse inscribed in relief Presented to the Captain Officers & Crew of R.M.S. 'Carpathia' in recognition of gallant & heroic services from the survivors of the S.S. 'Titanic' April 15th 1912. Dieges & Clust N.Y, the front depicting the Carpathia attending to the Titanic lifeboats in an ice field within raised border depicting the crowned head of Neptune, the sides with anchor motif below, with integral loop and ring suspension. First-Class passenger and survivor of the Titanic Margaret 'Molly' Brown initiated a campaign to honour the crew of the Carpathia for their efforts to rescue the passengers. A special ceremony was held in New York on May 29th 1912.
