Colonel of The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment) 3rd regiment of foot, dated 1757, in which he is appointing George Bailie Gentleman to become surgeons mate to the regiment under his command. 'Given under my hand and seal this 18th day of April 1757 in the twenty-fourth year of the reign of our sovereign lord George the second King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, and so forth.
