Victorian era police sword with fish skin grip, blade marked "Staffordshire Constabulary No113" with constabulary crown, quillon stamped "12", pommel stamped "1257". With brass mounted leather scabbard with working locking catch. Blade length 59.3cm. Sword was worn by Constable Joseph Bennett and included is his discharge/good conduct certificate signed by the Chief Constable of Staffordshire constabulary and a copy of his birth certificate from 1868.
