A rare 60 bore Calisher & Terry breech loading percussion sporting rifle, number 252, 45" overall, browned octagonal twist barrel 29" engraved "Calisher & Terry, 28 Norfolk St, Strand, London", the breech with Birmingham proofs and engraved "60 bore, Terry's Patent", the lock finely engraved with scrolls, a lioness and "Calisher & Terry", walnut halfstock with chequered fore end and wrist, horn fore end cap, and steel mounts, the trigger guard engraved with a stag. GWO & C, the metalwork retaining some original finish, the stock varnish patchy. £1000-1200
