A French Victorian boulle-cased mantel clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with the backplate stamped with the initials CR and serial number 255, the dial having shaped porcelain plaques with black Roman numerals and blued-steel trefoil hands, the waisted red tortoiseshell case with engraved brass inlaid decoration and applied ormolu mounts, with a glazed front showing the sunburst pendulum bob and surmounted by a cast-brass finial, height 33cm.
