Somaliland. 1903 (Apr 3) Stampless cover endorsed "From L.S Dyer L.S, Wireless Telegraphs, Somaliland, East Africa" and "no stamps obtainable", countersigned by Lt. C.W.G Crawford, second in command of the Marconi Detachment, posted at Berbera addressed to "W. Roots P.O 2nd, no. 5 Mess, H.M.S Perseus, East India Squadron, Bombay, India, or Elsewhere", redirected to Muscat and Bushire. Handstamped boxed "POSTAGE DUE / ONE ANNA", backstamped at "BERBERA", "SEA POST OFFICE", "BOMBAY" and "MUSCAT" (3 times, AP 21 & MY 7?), the reverse inscribed by the recipient "man who wrote this killed last week in Somaliland". Minor edge faults, horizontal and vertical folds, nevertheless a unique cover from a Leading Seaman serving with the Wireless Telegraphs, sent to Muscat.
