After Sesson Shukei (Japanese, 1504-about 1589) the second of two Kanō school antique eight-panel byobu (folding screens), ink on paper with silk borders mounted on wood lattice and within a wood frame, depicting mountainous lakescapes with scholars seated inside an open pavilion, other figures and pagodas, with four poems written in gold interspersed among the scenes, dimensions fully extended approx 368cm wide x 152cm high - provenance in pictures
