4 x vintage Japanese double kasuri pattern cloths, dark indigo base single colour accent. cotton and menase blend. , all tenmono width, stunning quality, acquired Kyoto region, late 1980’s. a-b-c-d- all 67-69 x 34cm. they look like unused offcuts. ‘kasuri’ from the Japanese word ‘blur’, patterns made by resist dyeing yarn before weave to make patterns during weaving in the warp and weft( hence ‘double’ )
