** NORMAN CROSS (HUNTS.) - "BOUCHE" P.O.W. COVER WITH RARE M/S "Exd. Wf." CENSOR'S MARKING; 1 July 1810 EL (weak folds; reinforced in places incl. stains from removed old sellotape - deserves full conservation) from "Bouche" headed "Norman Cross" to his father and brother in Marseille charged "10" (presumably via London and Morlaix) with tiny manuscript "Ex[amine]d W[oodruf]f" Camp Censor's mark at bottom right of reverse. Only three examples of this Norman Cross Censor's marking have been recorded (see MFPWE, p.215; see also previous lot). Bouche writes of the possibility of a prisoner exchange in September and asks for some money meanwhile. Additional to the 3 recorded covers sent from the Norman Cross Camp.
