A large late 19th century fan, the dark wood monture shaped, gilded and silvered, the gorge arranged à la semi-sultane over a floral cream machine lace leaf, guard approx. 35.5cm; together with three more fans, the first a small wood fan painted white, mounted in palmette or Jenny Lind fashion, the panels painted with small flowers and large leaves, all edged in gold, height approx. 19cm; a black wood fan with decorative detail in gold, the gold silk satin leaf embroidered in chain stitch in gold and silver threads, guard approx. 29cm; and a tan wood fan, the monture carved and pierced, the double paper leaf applied with spangles with a swagged upper border, guard approx. 24cm (4)
