A bronze tampion badge from HMS Queen Elizabeth, cast as Elizabeth I seated with orb and sceptre, two screw holes verso, height 28cm, comes with provenance detailing the history of how the badge came into the ownership of the vendor, it was salvaged by Stanley Wright who served on the ship in WWI and after the war when having a refit in Chatham dockyard it was saved. Stanley and Molly Wright ran the Jolly Sailor public house at Exmouth Terrace, near the docks and the bar was like a mini museum, a photocopy of the couple behind the bar shows this badge by Stanleys elbow (1 + printed provenance)
