1970 JPR Williams Matchworn Welsh Jersey v S Africa: Particularly ironic in the face of his very recent passing, after the jersey was consigned, a rarely seen item of historic memorabilia from the great Wales and twice Lion full back John 'JPR' Williams. An iconic and instantly recognisable figure, he wore this scarlet jersey with collar and stitched No. 15 to rear in white and with the WRU's three feathers emblem to breast in the rain and mud-soaked clash with the Springboks at Cardiff in January 1970: the 6-6 draw proving the first time in their meetings that Wales had avoided defeat to S Africa. Exchanged with an opponent after the match. Wonderful memories of a superb player and important match. A few marks, despite being inevitably washed after the mud bath, but in excellent condition for its near 55 years. Glorious
