19th century portrait miniature of Mrs. Jane Braddyll, after a portrait by Joseph Reynolds, watercolour on ivory, 7.5cm x 6cm (oval), unsigned, inscribed with sitter's name verso, in rectangular black lacquer frame. Jane Gale was the only daughter of Matthias Gale of Catgill Hall, Cumberland.  In 1776 she married her cousin William Gale of Conishead Priory who adopted the additional surname of Braddyll the same year. Braddyll became an MP and Groom of the Bed Chamber to George III.  NB: Bidders are responsible for arranging all documents relating to CITES and must comply with the relevant regulations of their destination country.
