A raised silkwork picture of the cargo ship SS 'Gilsland 'by Thomas Willis (American 1850-1925): fully rigged and at steam off a lighthouse point, flying Red Ensign, house flag and Stars and Stripes, legend beneath 'Gilsland. London. J Ratter Commander', framed and glazed, 48 x 71cm (some tears to silk to upper section) *Notes- Built in 1874 by Cole Brothers, Newcastle and owned by W Milburn & Co, London. In 1895 she was sold to Japan and renamed 'Shikishima Maru', broken up circa 1898.
