An early 20th century brass trivet from HMS 'Rovenska', 1917: the rectangular platform with stipple inscription as per title, raised on lions paw feet, 36 x 22cm. *Notes- Built in 1904 by Ramage & Ferguson, Leith for the Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria, Rovenska was subsequently requisitioned by the Royal Navy as a mine sweeper during WWI. In 1919 she was purchased by Gugliemo Marconi and renamed 'Elettra' which he used as a laboratory and workshop.. Elettra was requisitioned by the Germans in 1943 and torpedoed by a Royal Navy submarine in 1944.
