Perkins Bacon 1840 May 8th entire letter from the Barnsley Banking Co. to Perkins Bacon in Fleet Street. The letter refers to the £5 note (the figure '5' in the right hand corners to make the figure '5' clearer and more distinctive). A circular red wax seal has been used to secure the letter on reverse it reads 'B Bank Co' interesting letter - see image on web.
