ARR BY AND AFTER ROY BIZLEY (1930-1999), a set of six posters, caricatures of leading Conservative politicians in the Thatcher government with anti-Tory slogans, including Thatcher, Tebbit, Baker, Cecil (Parkinson), Currie and Lawson, woodcuts, signed and dated 1987 to four in pencil to the margin, 42.5cm x 28.5cm, framed ensuite.
The posters were issued for supporters of the Labour Party during the June 1987 General Election which was won by the Conservatives.
Roy Bizley studied at the Slade School of Art and during the 1950s he lived and painted in Australia. He later returned to the UK and taught at what is now de Montfort University. He died in 1999
