An English George III 18th century hand blown lead glass Roemer. The glass having a cup incorporating the hollow stem with applied prunts and milled collar. Raised on a high spun foot. Snapped pontil to base. Originally designed for the export market. Measures approx. 16cm tall x 8cm in diameter.
This style of glass enjoyed renewed popularity at the end of the 18th century with the arrival of reduced taxes on imported wines and Hock from German.
