Chinese embroidery, 19th and 20th century, Qing Dynasty, : a good silk panel embroidered with a dragon chasing the pearl, amongst bats, flowers and foliage, and several robed figures, one a babe in arms, with exquisite detail to the costume and hair accessory, bordered in woven ribbon and edged in black silk, backed in pale blue cotton, approx. 83 cm by 56cm; together with an unused panel for a table runner, crema silk embroidered with a group of butterflies, with very detailed wings, small bats around the edges, approx. 112 cm by 37 cm to include the cream border; a damask panel in pale turquoise, embroidered with exotic birds, butterflies and flowering foliage, approx. 56 cm by 27 cm, bound in black; a circular panel of cream gauze, embroidered in pastel silks, with branches and blossom diameter approx. 52 cm; and a large panel of cream silk, finely embroidered with sprays of Spring flowers, the leaves of varying shades of green, the flowers white with yellow centres, probably an uncut panel for two matching table runners, approx. 108 cm by 38cm (5)
In very good condition, probably unused, the last item has a hole in the centre which is unlikely to be of consequence when the item is put into use. It does however have one small area of light brown staining.
