CAMP COVER TO FRANCE ENDORSED "not paid" IN RED; 1 Oct. 1813 EL (some splitting of folds but complete and legible) from POW "Broche" to his parents in Liguot acknowledging receipt of their letter of 27 June and saying that; " you ask me if we have the countryside for a prison; I tell you with pain that since I was a prisoner I have always been confined together with my comrades in misfortune in a yard about three arpents [acres] in size..." endorsed "not paid" in red (at the Transport Office in London?) and charged "10[decimes]" (from Morlaix to which the cartel ship took the letter on behalf of the Transport Office).
