John Buchan (British, 1875-1940) novelist, historian and Governor General of Canada, part of a typed letter signed John Buchan, the remaining part typed as follows "The National War Aims Committee 54 Victoria Street S.W. and he will forward them. Yours very sincerely", undated but likely written c.1917 during his time as Director of Information, essentially leading Britain's propaganda effort or as head of a Department of Intelligence within a new Ministry of Information under Lord Beaverbrook
