TWO FIRST WORLD WAR MEDALS TO AN OFFICER WITH THE SOMERSET LIGHT INFANTRY. A 1914-15 Star named to 3192 Pte G.Durston 12-Lond. R. and a Victory Medal named to 2 Lieut G. Durston. Gilbert Durston from Burnham is recorded joining the War in France on the 9th March 1915 with the 12 Lond R. before being commissioned with the Somerset Light Infantry, he is listed as being wounded on the 9th August 1916 and entitled to a wound stripe.
