A fine and unusual striped purple silk dress c 1850’s, with tiered pagoda sleeves, finished with silk fringes, the sleeves incorporating a panel of cream machine lace and buttoned cuffs, (later alteration but same fabric?), the bodice gathered at the pointed waist, lined in a cream wool, pleated to the shoulder, this being a separate panel standing slightly proud of the fitted bodice front, gathered skirt lined in cream glazed cotton
In very good condition, very slight wear under one arm.
