Rev John Huyshe M.A. 1800 -1880 (Brother of Alfred Huyshe). Baptised and buried at Clyst Hydon, Devon, eldest son of John and Millborough Ann Huyshe. Rector of Clyst Hydon for 40 years until his death. Grand Master of the Freemasons for the Province of Devon. Braesnose Coll, Oxford, matric 21 Apr 1819, aged 17; BA 1823, MA 1825. Married 1837 Ann Lydia, daughter of William Greaves, Esq. of Mayfield, Derbyshire, Deputy-Lieut. and Justice of the Peace for the counties of Derby, Stafford, and Gloucester.
Thomas Mogford was born in Exeter in 1809. He showed an early talent for drawing and studied in Exeter under John Gendall. In about 1843 he moved to London, and subsequently exhibited at the Royal Academy. Mogforg subsequently moved to Guernsey where he practised almost entirely as a landscape painter; he also founded a school of painting on the island. He occasionally revisited England and Exeter to paint portraits. He died in Guernsey in 1868.
