Elizabeth I (1558-1603) sixpence, mm. pheon, 1561. Struck on a smaller, but full weight, flan with inner beaded circle of 17.5mm. The reverse shield seemingly bigger than similar of type and the date notably wider spaced appearing as 1 5 6 1. Reverse legend also ending in MEVM with no such example recorded in the Comber Collection. Bust 1F. Obv. scratch and small split to inner circle at TO of ADIVTOREM. Lightly cleaned otherwise VF or better and assumed very scarce. [3.17g, N.1997, S.2561]
