FAMILY BIBLE. The Self Interpreting Family Bible, with an evangelical commentary by the Late Rev John Brown. 2 vols, large folio, Thomas Kelly, 1832. Engraved title, 109 hand coloured plates and two uncoloured. Letterpress title to New Testament, later black morocco, all edges gilt, brass clasps. A few entries in family register section dated 1898-1906. Sporadic spotting to a few text leaves, but generally in excellent condition. Most copies located seem to have far fewer plates. It is unusual to find the plates hand coloured.
