This exquisitely illuminated 19th century Quran, from the Mughal period in India, features richly decorated double-page spreads of ornate calligraphy framed by intricate floral and geometric patterns. The manuscript is adorned with vibrant blues, golds, and reds, showcasing the fine artistry of Mughal illuminators. The text is carefully written in black ink. The Qurââ¬â¢an is bound in a brown leather cover with gold embossing.
