A CHINESE EIGHT FOLD BLACK LACQUER AND GILT DECORATED SCREEN, the central continuous panel with landscapes of farmers, water buffalo, fishermen, temples and figures within upper and lower borders of dragons chasing the 'Flaming Pearl' and further panels of birds amidst leafage and lake landscapes, floral filled borders, late 18th/early 19th century, each panel 210cm high x 55cm wide (faults and loss to gilding). Currently in two sections so needs to be re-hinged.
Each panel has one or more splits.
Multiple knocks to edges.
Several old hinge repairs leaving old scars.
Multiple patches of gilding missing where it has gradually lifted off the lacquer.
Tired, but original.
I cannot access the back as the porters have gone home and it is very heavy!
