GOLD FILIGREE PENDANT, FATIMID PERIOD, 10TH - 12TH CENTURY

This ornate gold pendant, dating from the Fatimid Period between the 10th and 12th centuries, is a stunning example of the intricate filigree work that flourished in Islamic art during this era. The pendant is elaborately crafted with delicate gold wire forming complex geometric and floral motifs, a hallmark of Fatimid jewellery design. The pendant’s rich decoration and refined craftsmanship indicate that it was likely a prized possession, possibly worn by someone of significant social standing.
