A pair of 19th century fruitwood high back bergère hall chairs in the Carolean taste, the carved and pierced cornices with central shell motif flanked by cherubs, amidst swirling acanthus scrolls, on carved supports modelled as caryatids, united by a very ornate front stretcher depicting further cherubs, with turned and block ‘H’ stretchers.
H160cm W52cm D50cm (approx).
Condition report: One seat has been re-caned. The other will require attention. Joints are good.
