The Triumph TR2 is a sports car produced by the Standard Motor Company in the United Kingdom between 1953 and 1955, during which time 8,636 [3] cars were produced.
The car used a twin SU carburettor version of the 121 cid (1991 cc) four-cylinder Standard Vanguard engine tuned to increase its output to 90 bhp. The body was mounted on a substantial separate chassis with coil-sprung independent suspension at the front and a leaf spring live axle at the rear. Either wire or disc wheels could be supplied. The standard transmission was a four-speed manual unit, with overdrive available on top gear as an option. Lockheed drum brakes were fitted all round
This Lovely TR2 has benefited from a recent partial restoration between 2012 and 2014. The car is described as driving beautifully with a very smooth gearbox and working overdrive. The car also has numerous upgrades to suspension and brakes, which include a front disc brake conversion, rack and pinion steering, seats, exhaust and a TR3 front grill. The interior is described as being excellent in a beautiful light tan. There is a comprehensive history file detailing the large amount of work done and a list of previous owners, one of which was Bill Pigott, a well known and respected expert and author. The car comes with a tan hood, side screens and original buff log book
