Star Lot: A large original Tom Scott (Irish contemporary) oil on canvas board painting titled 'Low tide, Eirlough'. Features the titular coastal scene with small fishing boats and Hooker in an impressionistic colour palette of lilac, pink and blue. Beautiful loose brushwork. Signed bottom right and housed under glass in a beautiful gilt frame. Framers sticker to verso.
Scott has sold well at auction with works fetching into the mid hundreds at Whytes.

Tom Scott, formerly a Medical Microbiologist, took up painting full-time a number of years ago. He studied oil painting with Henry Healy RHA in the late seventies and subsequently at NCAD. He is a member of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club, and the Dublin Art Society (formerly Dublin Art Club).
His work mainly comprises landscape/seascape in oils but also includes still life and interiors. His aim is to capture the immediacy of the scene through the encapsulation of light and colour. His painting is expressed in broken colour with loose strokes.
He has exhibited at the RHA and Oireachtas exhibitions, with the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club and the Dublin Art Society. His paintings are exhibited in a number of leading galleries and are held in private collections at home and abroad. Corporate collections include:
