A GREAT WAR VICTORY MEDAL AND ANZAC COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL TO THE AUSTRALIAN IMPERIAL FORCE. A Victory Medal named to 1579 Pte F. Lea 7 Bn A.I.F. and an ANZAC Memorial Medal named to F. Lea, in case of issue. Lea was reported as wounded on the 29th August 1915 whilst serving in the Mediterranean with the 7th Infantry Battalion. The Anzac memorial medal was instituted in 1967 and available to all Anzacs who took part in the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915-16, the medal depicts John Simpson Kirkpatrick and his donkey that did so much to evacuate casualties down 'Shrapnel Valley'. Mounted for display with copied research.
