French M1870/90 Cavalry Officers Sword, fine slim pipeback blade etched "Pour IR R01 RT La Patrie". Blade VGC (some dried grease, no rust) Triple bar hilt with leaf decoration. Black ribbed grip with original bullion knot, in its plated steel scabbard (some lifting to plating). As used during the Franco-Prussian War 1870-71 to WW1 1914-18.
