TWO FIRST WORLD WAR TRIOS TO BROTHERS, ONE A CASUALTY. A Great War trio comprising 1914-15 Star named to 641 Bmbr J.H. Hackett R.F.A., War Medal and Victopry Medal similarly named to the R.A. John Henry Hackett rose to the rank of Sergeant, the son of Mary Ann Hackett of 17 Crofton Park Road, Brockley in London, he arrived in France on the 4th October 1915 and also served with number 940076, he was with D Battery of the 261st Brigade and was killed in action on the 22nd August 1917 and is buried at the Huts Cemetery, he was 23 yeras old. His brother Doughlas with a Trio comprising 1914-15 Star named to 641 Pte D.H. Hackett R. Fus, War Medal and Victory Medal similarly named. Douglas also served with the Army Ordnance Corps as number 040359. He arrived in France on the 28th December 1914. With copied MiC and research. With a cap badge and rank pip. *CR Usual light surface marks. A lot fee of £8 inc. VAT will be charged on top of the hammer price and BP on all lots.
