1907 Composite essay for an unissued 2a stamp, a photographic vignette of Sultan Ali bin Hamoud with a separate photographic frame printed in blue, the country name handpainted in blue and Chinese white, also handpainted between the frame and vignette, the essay 20x24mm, on thick card endorsed "To be used for the anna stamps 4-8" and "Dupl.", dated "July 18th. 07", 89x113mm. This design was used for the issued 15c - 75c stamps; however the currency changed to cents and rupees and therefore no stamps were issued with values in annas. An interesting and unique essay from the De La Rue archives. Photo on Page 220.
