An early 19th century 18ct gold, enamel and diamond snake form ring, the snake coils round with blue enamel decorated body, and gem set eues, the head and tail perpendicular to the finger, one eye set with a part cut pale green stone (assessed as emerald) and one eye set with part cut diamond, the principal diamond is claw set in yellow to the centre of the ring, hallmarks worn but all tests as 18ct gold. Diamond specifications: cushion shaped old cut diamond measuring approximately 7.2mm by 5.8mm by 4.27mm, 1.47ct, assessed clarity SI1/SI2, M-tinted/ size L/M, 8.15g. [Together with Jewellery Assessment Certificate by SafeGuard] Overall the condition is good and commensurate with age. It has been resized at some point, but it is not noticable. some slight losses to the enamel, a small inclusion to the diamond.
