€6,000 - €8,000
A good pair of large antique Chinese blue and white baluster jars and covers, painted throughout with interlocking and alternating panels of flowers, trees and mountain landscapes, the covers surmounted by seated buddhist lions (probably once gilded) with pierced wooden stands. (Some damage see photos) Height (without stands) 60cm approx.
Circumference 112cm approx.
One has a fair bit of damage starting with the lid there is a piece out of it on the outside and inside see photos. The neck has a piece that has been glued back into it and there is a light crack running nearly half way down. The second vase has some chipping on the rim of the lid and on the under neath of the lid also. The rim of the neck has a chip and other wear and tear marks and a short light crack. There is the odd speck of paint on these vases probably caused by painters painting in the house. See photos.
