A 19th century Chinese lacquer workbox, of rectangular form with canted corners, the black ground with intricate gold and silver detail, depicting courtly scenes, surrounded by dragons chasing the flaming pearl, lattice and foliate scrollwork, with brass handles and raised on lion paw feet, (a/f two absent), having hinged lid opening to reveal fitted tray top, above a small, fitted drawer, 36 by 28 by 16cm high.
